What is Degaussing?
dE-'gaus : to remove or neutralize the magnetic field of
<degauss a magnetic tape> - de·gauss·er noun
Degaussing is the process of completely “ERASING” the recorded signal on most
magnetic media formats by passing through a strong magnetic field, which restores
them back to their original or “blank” condition. Why should most storage media be degaussed?
Do not just throw them away. Media should be
